I remember taking my first yoga class. I weighed in at 260 lbs and the class was held in a gym. Everyone around me weighed at least 100 lbs less than me and looked like they “belonged”. I know I didn’t feel as though I did. Luckily, something stuck for me. I kept at it. I ignored those voices that said “you don’t belong” - just long enough to keep taking classes. Catherine Pestl, BHSc, RYT, IBCLC is a Toronto-based yoga teacher who is grateful for the opportunities she has to learn and teach internationally. After finishing a degree in Health Sciences/Kinesiology, Catherine completed the RYT program in 2005 and studied advanced teacher training in Prenatal yoga at Esther Myers Yoga Studio in 2008. Catherine studied Mindfulness-based Meditation at McMaster in 2009, and incorporates mindfulness into every practice. Catherine's Monday evening meditation class is a blissful start to the week! Yoga with CORE! Zoja's Project
Join Zoja every Saturday 1:30 to 2:30 pm for her Yoga Flow with CORE! Become a regular with this class and work your way to Bakasana pose! Each week Zoja will build on the practice from the week before and working towards more intricate postures. Focusing on core and shoulders- to be able to hold those planks longer- Zoja says she will be able to get her regulars into handstand and balancing postures by the end of summer!
