“Originally, to practice Kung Fu did not just mean to practice Chinese martial arts. Instead, it referred to the process of one’s training – the strengthening of the body and the mind, the learning and the perfection of one’s skills – rather than to what was being trained. It refers to excellence achieved through long practice in any endeavor.” – Wikipedia

Master Yuan quote - Qi

In last week’s class, Master Yuan discussed the balancing of slow and quick movements.
He told us that to create more fluid movements when exercising, it is best to practice both soft and hard energy (Qi), to move both slowly and quickly throughout a sequence of exercises and forms.

When we take the time to balance the faster movement with the slower movement, we not only get a good workout but we discover a deeply peaceful energy.

Come and join us. Tuesdays at 8pm.
